"Urusei Yatsura" Exhibition
The "TV Anime Urusei Yatsura Exhibition" is based on the concept of "Girl Hunt with Ataru!!". A large visual of Lum greets visitors, and messages from Takahashi and the exhibition organizers are posted as they proceed further. In the pre-show area, which is after the history of "Urusei Yatsura" and a Q&A corner with the staff, an original video for the exhibition is screened. You can enjoy the video and audio of Ataru planning a girl hunt after learning that Lum is absent.
The colorful exhibition space features corners that focus on each character, Mendou, Shinobu, Ran, Oyuki, Sakura, Benten, Ryunosuke, and Sam. The exhibition is decorated with familiar "onomatopoeia" from "Urusei Yatsura", creating a lively atmosphere all the way up to the ceiling. In each character's area, the design points by character designer Naoyuki Asano and comments from the cast are also posted. At the Lum section at the end of the "warp corridor," visitors can look back on the trajectory of Lum and Ataru, and a cute life-size 3D figure of Lum, an original for this exhibition, awaits visitors. In addition, there is a photo spot using the exhibition's key visual, and a celebratory illustration for the 45th anniversary of "Urusei Yatsura" by 33 manga artists, including Gosho Aoyama and Mitsuru Adachi, was also on display.
At the press conference held in conjunction with the preview, Sumire Uesaka, who plays Lum, and Shinya Arino of Yoiko, a big fan of "Urusei Yatsura" and a supporter of the "TV Anime Urusei Yatsura Exhibition," appeared on stage. Arino said with a satisfied look, "The sound of the black telephone was ringing (inside the venue), and the immersive feeling was amazing. It was also good to be able to read the setting materials and behind-the-scenes stories of the staff." Uesaka promoted the life-size figure of Lum as the highlight of the exhibition. "It's just so cute, it's heart-stopping, and I hope many people will come and see it!" she said with a smile.
