Scandinavian furniture craftsmen love the Japanese tool "Sinto's Saw Rasp"

This saw rasp from Sinto was introduced in a TV program on the theme of "Things that Japanese people should know and have been carefully handed down from generation to generation.
And, even a furniture craftsman in Finland uses it!

This unique wood rasp construction consists of 10 hardened zigzaged saw blades riveted together to form a wide cutting surface. The waffled design eliminates clogging. They are made for working wood, but are also suitable for soft metals, plastics or plaster. This rasp lets you remove material at a high rate.

The teeth extend to the edge which greatly facilitates working in corners.

Each rasp has two working sides. The coarse side is for shaping and fast material removal and the fine side is for finishing cuts.

Made in Japan! Moreover, they are assembled by hand!!

Originally intended for wood, Shinto’s also work well on soft stone, pastilina (car designers clay), MDF, plasterboard, plywood and many other soft, dry materials.

Loved by those that use them and superb value for money.

With a coarse and a fine side, you get two for the price one. Give a little pressure with the coarse side to quickly remove a lot of wood or a delicate touch with the fine side to leave a finish that needs a bit of a sand to finish.

This saw rasp. It is very useful not only for shaving but also for antique-like aging process.

You can tap it to make dents or rub it with pinpoints.

It goes great with Watco oil or BRIWAX to create retro, fashionable furniture!

The "Sinto-Saw Rasp" shown here is available at ninoma!
