Abyss Scroller is a third generation Hexagear developed by the Liberty Alliance.
It was developed for the purpose of exploring and conquering blocked terrain such as culverts. Unlike other third generation species, it has two types of Zoatex modes, and is characterized by the fact that Zoatex is always expressed.
At the beginning of the war, urban centers across the country were attacked by an unmanned Hexagear called Hidestorm. Subsequent investigations reconfirmed the fact that there were many other huge underground pipes and facilities from ancient times that were used as entry routes during attacks, and the Liberty Alliance urgently needed to uncover the full extent of these facilities. As a result, most of the geographic information beyond the outline of the underground structure has been lost, and moreover, it has already become enemy territory where MSG Valiant Force's Hexa Gear and droids roam.
In particular, Hidestorm, who was skilled in electronic warfare including the VIC Blade, posed a great threat, exposing the communication lines, relays, and power lines that connected cities, and threatening the cooperation of the Liberty Alliance from underground. The Liberty Alliance recognized the need to clean up this contaminated underground area, and hastily prepared a dedicated unit and Hexagear.
During development, the remains of the destroyed Hide Storm were recovered, and the frame structure was redesigned and used. However, the VIC blade remains a suboptimal countermeasure, with no hope of reproducing, controlling, or nullifying the phenomenon. This is the Invasion Counter Shield commonly known as "ICS" equipped on the left arm weapon. Due to a chronic shortage of parts, only a small number of these machines were built, and teams were formed and sent into the darkness underground. There were countless areas underground that were heavily contaminated (Level 6 "Abyss") due to the operation of crystal furnaces, and these were incomparable to the areas contaminated on the surface. The Abysscrawlers crawled through sludge and garbage, sometimes engaging with Hidestorm and sometimes with small droids, secretly fighting over and over again.
