[Aircraft explanation]
Bulk Arm β is a second generation Hexagear that has been modified from the ``α Type'', which was praised as a masterpiece but had problems pointed out during actual combat operations. Developed and manufactured by the military-industrial complex MSG, same as the "α type".
The main external features of this aircraft are its legs, and by equipping the legs with auxiliary devices for movement, the cruising speed is significantly improved compared to the ``α type''. This is an improvement plan for the bulk arm series, especially the "α type", which uses highly durable armor material, which sacrifices mobility, making it difficult to link with other land weapons such as combat vehicles.
In line with this speed improvement, the head has also been changed from the "α type", and a model that emphasizes mobile warfare has been adopted, with more versatility and equipped with sensors suitable for medium to close-range combat.
As for the firearms installed, the standard specifications immediately after shipment from the manufacturer are kept to a bare minimum, such as a submachine gun and a heat knife, and this also shows the concept of high speed.
Another difference from the α type is that the range of movement of the frame of the arm and working limb has been expanded, and the increased freedom of various movements allows for a wider range of tactics in close combat. The tip of the working limb continues to use the iron fist from the "α type", so melee attacks using this are equally powerful. In particular, attacking from acceleration using a hover unit is known as a useful assault tactic.
Governors are customized to suit each mission, terrain, and battle situation from the moment they are deployed, so only a small number of them fly out with standard specifications like the one above.
Some people add firearms stolen from the enemy, while others equip armored aircraft with large swords for hand-to-hand combat and go to battle.
Any Governor who has ever been on the battlefield knows that many of the weapons distributed by developer MSG at the time were used to strengthen the main unit, and countless custom units were created.
The Governor, who prefers the β-type with enhanced mobility, often uses light to medium-weight armament to take advantage of the aircraft's original characteristics, and sometimes even reduces the armor.
However, due to various factors such as the ever-changing war situation and each individual's financial circumstances (or hobbies), it is common on the battlefield for aircraft to be operated in ways that deviate from the concept of the aircraft.There have also been cases where aircraft have been used with equipment that puts the cart before the horse, such as when the aircraft was equipped with large firearms for area suppression in order to provide fire support for the units it belonged to, resulting in excessive weight and the removal of the leg unit itself and replacing it with a crawler unit that had a higher carrying capacity.
