Joyful Leaps into Dotonbori River as Hanshin Tigers Win Japan's Baseball Championship

In celebration of the Hanshin Tigers' first championship win in 38 years, a jubilant scene unfolded at the Dotonbori River in Osaka's Minami district, with numerous individuals taking the plunge. According to the police, a total of 37 people jumped into the Dotonbori River during this celebration. Fortunately, there were no reported injuries.

At the Ebisubashi Bridge, overlooking the Dotonbori River, a large crowd gathered on the evening of November 5th, chanting 'banzai' and singing the popular Tigers' fight song, 'Rokko Oroshi.'

To maintain safety, the police implemented crowd control measures, including establishing one-way traffic from the south side to the north side of the bridge.

As of 2:15 AM on November 6th, the police reported that 37 individuals had participated in the celebratory river jump without any injuries.

By the early morning hours, the crowds at the Ebisubashi Bridge had dissipated, with no significant disruptions or issues reported. Police officers had lined the railing to prevent individuals from jumping, emphasizing the risks associated with such behavior, including the low water temperature, and urged people to refrain from jumping.
