WIND BREAKER to be adapted into a stage play
Nii Satoru's "WIND BREAKER" is being adapted into a stage play. It will be performed at COOL JAPAN PARK OSAKA WW Hall in Osaka from January 3rd to 5th, 2025, and at Theater H in Tokyo from January 10th to 19th.
"WIND BREAKER", which is serialized in Magazine Pocket, is a yankee manga that depicts the activities of Haruka Sakura, a first-year high school student who comes to Furin High School, a school notorious for its delinquents, and her activities as a member of the "Boufuurin" group that protects the peace of the town. It was made into an anime in April this year, and it has been decided that Season 2 will be produced and broadcast in 2025.
The director is Go Ueki, who has directed the "Hypnosis Mic -Division Rap Battle- Rule the Stage" series and the stage play "Cyborg 009". The script will be written by Kaori Miura, who wrote and directed the musical "Nanairo Inko".
The cast was also announced, with Ishikawa Ryoga as Sakura Haruka, Sana Hiroki as Umemiya Hajime, Takahashi Shunichi as Hiiragi Toma, Ando Yumeka as Sofang Junhi, Nakamoto Taiga as Sugishita Kyotaro, and Yokoyama Kazo as Nirei Akihiko from Boufuurin. From Shishito Ren, Imamaki Teru will play Usamiyama Chouko, Satochu Masamichi as Togame Jo, YUKI as Sako Kota, Kono Ryota as Arima Yukinari, Chatani Yuta as Kanuma Minoru, and Takahashi Karin as Tachibana Kotoha. Members of the ensemble group Ton-pu SKILLZ include Kumakura Isao, Ishida Hajime, YASU, Kozakura Riku, Kamiya Ryota, Kaito, Ijiri Tsubasa, Sakumoto Ayumu, Chiba Masahiro, SOUTA, and HIROMA. Character visuals for Boufuurin and Shishidouren have also arrived.
Ticket lottery applications will be accepted from today, September 24th, through the cast's fan club pre-sale until October 7th, and from tomorrow, the 25th, through the magazine pre-sale until October 14th. Applications will be accepted from October 8th on the play's official website.
