This high-quality suspense drama that takes place in the near future where humans and high-performance robots coexist has won the Osamu Tezuka Cultural Award Manga Grand Prize and the Intergenerational Award at the Angoulême International Manga Festival, known as the "Cannes of the manga world." It received high praise both domestically and internationally, and the book became a huge hit with cumulative circulation of over 10 million copies worldwide.
Furthermore, it was made into a stage play in 2015, was re-performed in 2018, and toured Europe, not only in Japan but also in the UK, Netherlands, and Belgium.
