"Fate/Zero" to be made into a musical!
It has been decided that "Fate/Zero" will be made into a musical. It will be performed in Tokyo and Osaka from January to February 2025.
Since the release of the PC game "Fate/stay night" in 2004, the "Fate" series has been expanded into a wide range of media mix developments. "Fate/Zero" is a spin-off novel by Gen Urobuchi that depicts the events before "Fate/stay night", and the story unfolds during the Fourth Holy Grail War. Many characters related to the characters in "Fate/stay night", such as Kiritsugu Emiya, Irisviel, and Tohsaka Tokiomi, also appear. A TV anime was also broadcast in 2011 and 2012.
For the musical "Fate/Zero", Urobuchi himself is in charge of script supervision. Hideyuki Nishimori, known for the musical "Moriarty the Patriot" series, is in charge of the script, direction, and lyrics. Urobuchi expressed his joy, saying, "Fate/Zero is a novel that marked a major turning point for me, and it is no exaggeration to say that Gen Urobuchi is who he is today because of this work. I am excited to see it reborn in a new form in the Reiwa era." Nishimori praised the original work, saying, "Fate/Zero is a legendary work. It is a masterpiece that will be passed down as a classic for hundreds of years to come." He continued, "If you are going to depict a work that is said to be legendary, you must live up to it as a legendary stage. The cast is full of talent. The staff is knowledgeable. Our goal is to create a creative musical that transcends the boundaries of genres. I will put all my energy into this work now."
