"My Dress-Up Darling" to be made into a TV drama in October!

Shinichi Fukuda's "My Dress-Up Darling" has been adapted into a TV drama. Starring Riko Nagase and Kota Nomura, it will be broadcast on the MBS/TBS "Dramaism" slot from October 8th.

A high school boy, Wakana Gojo, is training to become a head maker who makes faces for Hina dolls. Although he is absorbed in making Hina dolls, he is unable to fit in with his peers because his interests do not match those of his peers. One day, Marin Kitagawa, a popular gal in his class, notices his dexterity and asks him to make cosplay costumes as an extension of making costumes for Hina dolls. Wakana is confused, but Marin's enthusiasm moves him to start making costumes. With Wakana's help, Marin pursues his interests of anime, games, and manga, and enjoys cosplay with all his might. Influenced by Marin's behavior, Wakana also begins to break out of his shell little by little... The original work is currently being serialized in Young Gangan (Square Enix). It will be turned into a TV anime in 2022, and a sequel is also planned.

Nagase, who plays Marin, commented, "Marin has a flashy appearance, but she is also a wonderful girl with a delicate heart, so I would like to enjoy filming her. The cosplay hair and makeup and costumes are also very gorgeous, so please look forward to the broadcast!" Nomura, who plays Niina, said about the original work, "I was able to once again feel the importance of admitting that you like what you like," and called out, "I want the drama 'My Dress-Up Darling' to be a wonderful work for everyone, so I would be happy if you could watch it warmly!"
