Capcom announced "Monster Hunter Now," a new game being developed in collaboration with Niantic, Inc.

Niantic is the maker of many location-based games such as "Ingress," "Pokémon GO," and "Pikmin Bloom. Monster Hunter Now" will also include augmented reality elements, such as hunting monsters that appear in the real world and collecting materials to create weapons and equipment.

The game supports simultaneous multiplayer for up to four players, allowing players to hunt together with other players gathered in the vicinity based on location information. The game is designed to be easy to play, with simple tap-and-flick controls that can be played with one hand, and a single hunt can be completed in as little as 75 seconds.

In addition, players can "bring home" monsters by hitting them with "paintballs," and they can hunt them with friends. Paintballs can be used by otomo on their own, and the game is designed to naturally lead to hunting even when the application is not running.

In the game, the streets where players spend their daily lives are transformed into familiar areas from the "Monster Hunter" series, such as the Shibuya Hikarie shopping center that becomes a "desert. Players will encounter powerful monsters representative of "Monster Hunter" such as the "Rio Reus" while commuting to work, school, or just taking a walk.
