"GHOST IN THE SHELL" 4K remastered version to be screened again

"Ghost in the Shell" is an anime film based on the science fiction manga "Ghost in the Shell" which began serialization in Kodansha's "Young Magazine Pirate Edition" in 1989 by manga artist Masamune Shirow.

In the year 2029, the film depicts the exploits of the unofficial extra-legal special forces "Public Security Section 9" (commonly known as "Ghost in the Shell"), which was formed to combat computer crimes and cyber terrorism that occur frequently in a highly developed network society. It is also popular overseas, having won the first place in the weekly video chart of Billboard magazine in the United States, and is known as the work that made Oshii's name known worldwide.

This emergency re-screening will show the film, which was released in September 2021 as a 4K remastered version, on the big screen again. Speaking of this film, voice actress Atsuko Tanaka, who passed away on August 20th, plays the main character Motoko Kusanagi, a full-body prosthetic (cyborg) with excellent abilities in cyber warfare and fighting, and is called "Major". Among all the works that Tanaka has voiced, this is one of his most famous works, and is loved by anime fans around the world. I would love to take this opportunity to experience it again on the big screen.
