The fifth series of the TV anime "Kingdom" will start airing on NHK General from January 6, 2024 at 24:00. Along with this, the second key visual depicting the unique Kankaku army has been unveiled.
Kingdom" is a Chinese Warring States epic romance based on the manga by Yasuhisa Hara, which is serialized in "Weekly Young Jump". Set in China during the Spring and Autumn Warring States Period, the story follows the adventures of a boy named Nobu (CV: Seiichi Morita), who aspires to become the greatest general in the world, and the young king, Yosei (CV: Jun Fukuyama), who later becomes the first emperor of Japan. The original story won the Manga Grand Prize at the 17th Osamu Tezuka Cultural Awards in 2013, and the comics have sold a total of more than 99 million copies. 2019 saw the first live-action film adaptation, which became a social phenomenon, recording a box-office hit of 5.7 billion yen.
